The Client
Aihan Perfumes (aihanperfumes.com) is a premium fragrance brand offering luxury perfumes with distinctive scent profiles. Targeting discerning customers in the UAE, Middle East, and international markets, Aihan needed a Shopify store that felt as luxurious as their products, not a generic e-commerce template.
The Challenge
- Selling Scent Online: The #1 challenge in fragrance e-commerce is that customers can’t smell the product. The store needed to compensate with rich visual storytelling, scent descriptions, and sensory language that made customers feel confident purchasing without sampling.
- Luxury Brand Positioning: The existing store looked like a basic Shopify template, completely misaligned with the premium price point and luxury positioning of the brand.
- International Audience: Aihan’s customers span the UAE, Saudi Arabia, UK, and US. The store needed multi-currency, multi-language (English + Arabic), and region-specific payment options.
- High Return Risk: Fragrance is a high-return category. The store needed detailed scent profiles, comparison tools, and discovery sets to reduce return rates.

Key Takeaways
- In fragrance e-commerce, storytelling replaces sampling. The more vividly you can describe a scent through visuals, language, and interactive tools, the more confident customers feel buying online.
- Luxury UX isn’t about being flashy, it’s about being intentional. Every animation, color choice, and micro-interaction should reinforce the premium positioning without slowing down the page.
- Regional payment and language support directly impacts revenue. Adding Tabby/Tamara and Arabic RTL support unlocked an entirely new customer segment in the Middle East.
